What It Is

Glass mosaic art is the practice of composing small pieces of coloured glass into a single image or pattern. Because each tile is hand-cut and slightly different, no two finished pieces ever look the same.

In this workshop at our Downtown San Jose studio you choose your palette from more than thirty glass colours, learn how to place and space tiles for the cleanest result, and build a mosaic panel that catches the light. Your host guides the layout so the composition holds together, and you take the finished piece home the same day.

Colour, Light, and a Centuries-Old Craft

Colour, Light, and a Centuries-Old Craft

You work with hand-cut stained glass in more than thirty colours, setting each piece into a composition that catches and throws light. The technique is genuinely old — the same one used across Anatolia for centuries — and it is far more approachable than it looks.

Absorbing, Detailed, and Deeply Satisfying

Placing glass is quiet, focused work — the kind of task that makes an hour disappear. There is no drawing skill required and no way to fall behind, which is why it lands equally well for a date night and a full team offsite in the South Bay.
