Woodburning Art Workshop

What It Is

Pyrography is the art of burning images and patterns into wood using a heated tool. By controlling heat, pressure, and movement, you can create fine lines, deep shadows, and soft gradients that would be impossible with paint or ink alone.

In our NYC Financial District location, this workshop is designed to feel focused, rewarding, and easy to follow for beginners. We provide stencils to take the guesswork out of the design process, so you can focus entirely on the burning technique and the satisfaction of watching your artwork come to life. It is a strong fit for team events and private groups because the process is absorbing, quietly satisfying, and ends with a result that feels genuinely impressive.

Your Workshop Journey

Learn Safety and Tool Basics

Get introduced to the pyrography tool, nib types, heat settings, and the safety rules that keep the process smooth and controlled.

Practice Lines and Shading

Practice controlling heat, speed, and pressure to create clean lines and soft gradients before moving to your final piece.

Use a Stencil and Start Burning

Choose from inspiration templates or use your own design. We help you apply a stencil directly onto the wood so your design is clean and ready to burn with confidence.

Finish and Take It Home

Add final details, review the finished piece, and leave with a completed wood-burned artwork ready to display or gift the same day.

Draw With Heat, Not Ink

Pyrography flips the way you think about drawing. Instead of a pen, you use a heated tool to burn lines, shading, and texture directly into wood. It feels precise, meditative, and surprisingly addictive once the first mark lands exactly where you want it.

Safety First, Stencils Ready, Then Creative Freedom

This workshop is built for beginners and puts safety before everything else. You will learn proper tool handling, nib types, and heat control before you start burning. We also provide stencils to help you transfer your design cleanly onto the wood, so even if you have never drawn anything in your life, you can create a finished piece that looks intentional and impressive.
