Sketch it. Build it. Then light it up. Our Lantern Making Class in Midtown NYC is a hands-on workshop where you design your own illustrated paper lantern, shaped like a hot air balloon, and finish it with a warm glow that turns your drawing into a piece of living light.
You'll start with a blank ribbed paper globe and ink your own scene across it: a moonlit skyline, a crescent moon, a scatter of stars, or whatever world you want to travel to. Then you'll rig the hanging twine, attach the woven rattan basket, and fit a warm-white LED so your lantern glows from within. No experience needed. Everything is provided, and you take your finished lantern home at the end.
