Why Adults Love This
A rare combination: a meditative or therapeutic escape from daily stress, beginner-friendly guidance with no prior skill required, and a tangible keepsake. Guests consistently describe it as one of the most calming and rewarding things they have done, and the finished lamp makes a thoughtful gift for any special occasion.
A Real Mental Pause
Your brain doesn’t usually stop—it just switches tabs. But once you start placing the glass, something quiets down. No emails. No rush. Just color, pattern, and your hands moving slowly. People tell us it’s the first time all week they forgot to check their phone.
Easy Connection, No Awkwardness
You don’t have to perform here. Your hands are busy, so conversation happens naturally—or not at all. Some moments are quiet, some full of laughter. There’s music, Turkish tea, and zero pressure to be “on.” It feels relaxed in the best way.
Keep It For Years
This isn’t a throwaway craft. You work with real hand-cut glass from Istanbul and a solid brass base. When you’re done, you’re holding a lamp you’ll actually use—something you’ll see every night and remember making.
Step 1: A Warm Welcome
We start the way we would welcome guests into our own home. You'll be greeted with traditional Turkish tea and small treats, and time to settle in. The studio is designed to feel calm and inviting—not rushed or crowded. This is your space for the next few hours.
Step 2: Pattern & Color
You don't need to "know art" to do this well. We introduce the traditional geometric patterns—stars, florals, repeating forms—and explain how they work. The structure is already there. Your role is to choose colors and bring the pattern to life. The process feels guided, not intimidating.
Step 3: The Grouting Technique
This is the step most people don't expect—and the one that makes the biggest difference. We show you the traditional grouting method that locks everything in place and gives the lamp its signature texture and depth. It's the moment where the piece truly comes together, and where it starts to feel like something built to last.
Time That Feels Just Right
These workshops aren't rushed. Depending on the piece you choose, sessions last between 1.5 and 3 hours. That's enough time to slow down, get into the rhythm of the work, ask questions, and enjoy the process—without feeling exhausted. People often say the time passes faster than expected, in a good way.
