  1. Rug tufting party

    Rug tufting party

    KraftStories

Everyone gets a tufting gun and a design and leaves with a rug. It is the loudest, most photographed holiday format we run, and the one teams repeat the following year. Add a round of trivia while the glue dries.

SoMa · 360 Ritch St (to 45) or Financial District · 405 Sansome St (to 150)
    Price
    $89 per person, all materials
    Group / time
    10–150 · 2.5 hours
    Best for
Teams that want an event, not a dinner; December Thursdays go first.
  2. Candle making with a mulled-cider bar

Candle making with a mulled-cider bar

    KraftStories

Each guest blends a winter scent from 40+ oils and hand-pours a soy candle. One hour of making inside a two-hour party, with time to mingle before and after. We bring Turkish tea, coffee and baklava; you bring the playlist.

    Where
SoMa · 360 Ritch St, or your office anywhere in the Bay Area
    Price
    $59 per person, all materials
    Group / time
    10–100 · 2 hours with social time
    Best for
Big mixed groups and offices that want the party at their own desks.
  3. Perfume blending holiday party

    Perfume blending holiday party

    KraftStories

A guided blend of top, heart and base notes into a bottle each guest takes home as their own gift. Elegant, conversational and quieter than tufting; the Financial District loft dresses up well for it.

    Where
Financial District · 405 Sansome St, two minutes from Embarcadero BART
    Price
    $79 per person, all materials
    Group / time
    10–150 · 1.5 hours plus social time
    Best for
Client events, leadership dinners, and teams who want polished rather than messy.
  4. Turkish mosaic lamp workshop

    Turkish mosaic lamp workshop

    KraftStories

Glass tiles and beads set onto a lamp globe, grouted and fitted onto a base, with the room going quiet around the halfway mark. The lamp is the holiday gift; nobody has to buy one.

    Where
SoMa · 360 Ritch St; Financial District for larger groups
    Price
    $79 per person, all materials
    Group / time
    10–60 · 2.5 hours
    Best for
Smaller teams and year-end retreats; the keepsake format.
  5. Mobile holiday workshop at your office

Mobile holiday workshop at your office

    KraftStories

We bring the candle, perfume, terrarium or mosaic kits and the hosts to your floor, run the making for an hour, and clear up. Your caterer and bar stay in place; the workshop becomes the activity between dinner and the speeches.

    Where
Your office or venue, anywhere from Marin to San Jose
    Price
From $59 per person depending on format
    Group / time
    20–200 · 1–1.5 hours inside your event
    Best for
Companies with a venue already booked who need the party to have a centre.
  6. Private dinner at the Ferry Building

Several Ferry Building restaurants take full buyouts and private rooms in December, and the Embarcadero location means nobody is driving. Book in October; the good rooms go early.

    Where
Embarcadero · Ferry Building, 1 Ferry Building
    Price
    $90–180 per person with drinks
    Group / time
    20–120 · 3 hours
    Best for
The classic dinner format; pair with a one-hour workshop beforehand so it is not only a dinner.
  7. Holiday Ice Rink at Union Square

The seasonal rink in Union Square runs from early November into January and takes group bookings and private sessions. Skating is twenty minutes of fun for most adults, so plan it as the first stop, not the whole night.

    Where
Union Square · 333 Post St
    Price
About $20–25 per person including skates
    Group / time
    10–100 · 1 hour
    Best for
Teams with visiting family-style energy; book a nearby bar for afterwards.
  8. Escape rooms at Palace Games

Large, mechanical rooms inside the Palace of Fine Arts, booked out in parallel so a team of 30 can race in three groups. Palace Games runs a dedicated corporate programme with a debrief space.

    Where
Marina · Palace of Fine Arts, 3601 Lyon St
    Price
    About $50–65 per person
    Group / time
    6–40 · 90 minutes plus
    Best for
Competitive teams who would rather solve something than make something.
  9. Warriors game at Chase Center

Group tickets or a suite for a December home game, with Mission Bay's restaurants and the Embarcadero on either side for before and after. The season runs October to April, so December dates are plentiful.

    Where
Mission Bay · Chase Center, 1 Warriors Way
    Price
From about $60 per person; suites far more
    Group / time
    10–300 · 3 hours
    Best for
Big budgets and big groups; zero planning once the tickets are bought.
  10. Private holiday sail on the Bay

A chartered catamaran under the Golden Gate Bridge with the city lit up behind you. December is cold on the water, so this is a daytime charter with hot drinks, not an evening one.

    Where
Fisherman's Wharf · Pier 39 and the Marina
    Price
Private charters from about $2,000; about $60–80 per person on public sails
    Group / time
Up to about 45 per boat · 1.5–2 hours
    Best for
Leadership offsites and teams with colleagues flying in.
  11. Holiday cooking or baking class

A chef-led cook-and-eat session at 18 Reasons in the Mission or with a hired chef at your office, built around a holiday menu. The meal is the deliverable, so it replaces the dinner line on the budget.

    Where
Mission · 18 Reasons, 3674 18th St, or your office
    Price
About $95–150 per person including food
    Group / time
    10–30 · 2.5–3 hours
    Best for
Food-driven teams of under 30; does not scale well beyond that.
  12. Volunteer shift and lunch

A two-hour sorting shift at the SF-Marin Food Bank's Potrero Hill warehouse, booked as a group, followed by lunch together. December shifts fill months ahead because every company has the same idea; book in September next year.

    Where
Potrero Hill · 900 Pennsylvania Ave
    Price
    Free; lunch extra
    Group / time
    10–50 · 2 hours plus lunch
    Best for
Teams that want the holiday event to mean something; the morning half of a day.

No alcohol or outside catering at the Bay Area studios; Turkish tea, coffee and baklava are provided on request. Mobile events at your venue follow your venue's rules.

Quick answers for planners

Practical details planners usually ask before confirming date, studio, and format.

SoMa up to 45, the Financial District up to 150, San Jose up to 60. Larger parties are hosted at your own venue with our mobile team.
Two to three hours: a one- or two-and-a-half-hour workshop depending on the format, plus social time before and after. Candle and perfume are the short formats; tufting and mosaic lamps are the long ones.
Not into the studios: Bay Area studio events are alcohol-free with no outside catering, and we provide Turkish tea, coffee and baklava on request. At your own office or venue your caterer and bar stay as they are.
Thursday and Friday evenings in the first three weeks of December are usually gone by mid-November. Daytime slots and early December hold out longer. Send a date window and we will tell you what is open the same day.
Yes. Candle, perfume, terrarium and mosaic lamp workshops travel anywhere from Marin to San Jose with hosts and materials; tufting travels within San Francisco. From 20 guests up.
Yes. We run a holiday trivia round while candles set or glue dries at no extra cost, and the workshop piece doubles as the gift, so most teams skip the Secret Santa.
