Tips for hosting a pop culture trivia game at work
- Mix the decades. Rounds 5 and 9 favor younger players and round 8 favors millennials, so playing at least one of each keeps teams balanced.
- Use teams of three to five. Mixing departments in each team is the easiest way to get people talking who don't normally work together.
- Add music and pictures. Play the first five seconds of a song and ask for the artist, or show a movie still and ask for the title.
- Keep score where everyone can see it. A shared slide or whiteboard is enough.
- Give a small prize. Bragging rights, a trophy that moves desks each week, or first pick of the snacks.
