What Is Air-Dry Clay?
Air-dry clay is a natural clay body that cures at room temperature — no kiln, no wheel, no firing schedule. Hand-building with it is the oldest way humans have shaped clay, older than the wheel itself. This workshop teaches the full arc: conditioning, shaping, texturing, and how to finish your piece once it cures at home.
No wheel, no kiln, no machines. Air-dry clay responds directly to pressure, warmth and patience — every curve in the finished piece is a decision your hands made.
The clay cures at room temperature over two to three days. No firing, no glazing appointments — you carry your piece home the same evening and simply let it rest.
