✨ A Miniature Earth in a Jar Step away from the screen and into a tiny, living world of your own making. Led by Nur—a designer and educator who has hosted tens of thousands of participants worldwide—this workshop is a journey into ecosystem science and tactile meditation. Using a premium kit delivered to your door, you will build a self-sustaining world that captures the beauty of nature in a professional-grade vessel. As you work with your hands, you’ll quiet the digital noise, learn the secrets of plant resilience, and create a glowing, living reminder that “life finds a way.”

What you'll do

Foundation & Ecosystem Logic

Foundation & Ecosystem Logic

We begin by reframing the craft—this isn't a gardening class; it’s planetary engineering. You’ll learn the history of the "mini-Earth" concept and set up your base drainage layers to support long-term water and gas cycles.

Soil Science & Hydration

Soil Science & Hydration

Using our signature "pre-hydration" method, you’ll mix specialized moisture-control soil, activated carbon, and sphagnum moss. This critical step kickstarts the ecosystem immediately, ensuring your jar is perfectly balanced for years of survival.

Landscape & Planting

Landscape & Planting

This is the creative heart of the workshop. You’ll design your topography, professionally prep your tropical plants to protect against pests, and layer in live moss. You’ll learn how to create depth and perspective like a pro.

Artistry & Long-Term Care

Artistry & Long-Term Care

We finish with the "flow state" details—adding decorative paths, figurines, and fairy lights. Finally, we cover the secrets of "zero-maintenance" care, name your world, and celebrate its "birthday" with a group show-and-tell.

What to expect

✨ From Soil to Sanctuary

Step into a session designed to be part science lab, part meditation. Here is how your 90-minute journey unfolds:

  • Ecosystem Orientation: We start by reframing the experience—this isn’t a plant-care class; it’s an ecosystem-building session. You’ll learn how life organizes itself within a container, from the water cycle to the gas exchange.
  • The Layering Ritual: Guided by Nur, you will methodically build your world from the ground up. You’ll layer pebbles, separation materials, and specialized soil blends, creating the foundation for a thriving, miniature Earth.
  • Soil Alchemizing: You won’t just "add dirt." You’ll learn the science of pre-hydrating your mix to kickstart the water cycle immediately, ensuring your plants have the perfect micro-climate from the moment you close the lid.
  • Landscape & Design: This is where your world takes shape. You’ll learn techniques for planting and arranging greenery to create depth, using live moss and tropical plants to build a landscape that feels like a tiny forest or a hidden glade.
  • The "Flow State" Experience: As you use precision tools to place your final decorative touches—like pebbles or figurines—the outside world fades away. This quiet, focused making is designed to act as a total digital detox.
  • Naming & Care: We wrap up by naming your new world and setting its "birthday." Nur will provide simple rules for success—location, light, and moisture—so your ecosystem thrives with virtually no ongoing effort.
